QProny Module
In order to assist the users of QW-3D in the analysis of high Q structures, a special software module QProny, co-authored by Prof. M. Mrozowski was developed. QProny uses one of the most robust signal processing techniques known as the Generalised Pencil of Function Method (GPOF) and employs unique and innovative methods for automatic selection of the most important parameters such as:
| • | the number of initial samples to be skipped |
| • | the number of samples required for model construction |
| • | the model order |
EVS Module
The EigenValue Solver module implemented in QW-3D, co-authored by Prof. M. Mrozowski is a unique and innovative solution with is designed to allow one to efficiently tackle ideal resonator problems using the proven accuracy and robustness of the same computational engine that runs behind the regular wideband simulations. The module uses advanced state-of-the art mathematical techniques to solve extremely large eigenvalue problems with very modest computational effort. The module was successfully tested for up to 1 million unknowns and its efficiency is found to be comparable or even better than specialised frequency domain software.

| • | the module uses an algorithm that has been designed to converge on a single mode but may also be used to calculate a few resonant modes, which are located around the specified search frequency |
| • | the resonance (and the corresponding modal field) closest to this search frequency is calculated with the largest accuracy |
| • | the accuracy of both the resonance frequency and the field deteriorates as the resonance moves away from the search frequency |
QProny and EVS
As a result, high quality models may be created without any user's intervention. Inexperienced user can construct a correct model without knowing anything about intricacies of the applied signal processing techniques.
