20  Wire antenna

General Description

A simplified model of a mobile handset with a wire antenna. The structure has been originally measured by Jensen and Rahmat-Samii and presented in “Performance analysis of antennas for hand-held transceivers using FD-TD”, IEEE Trans. Antennas Propag., vol. AP-42, No.8, Aug.1994, pp.1106-1113.

Geometry

The geometry of the antenna consists of a mobile handset made of PEC with dimensions 13.1mm x 52.5mm x 151mm and a wire with 0.9195 mm in diameter and 80 mm long.

The model is surrounded by Perfectly Matched Layer (PML) absorbing box.

Post Processing

Reflection coefficient of the wire antenna.

Radiation pattern of the wire antenna at 0.915 GHz and 0.94 GHz.
