38  Dielectric resonator

This example is available in .../QW-3D/Standard/Resonators/Dielres/dielres1.QWPro in the QW-Modeller examples directory and can be loaded using File®Open Examples... command from main menu.

General Description

The structure is a dielectric resonator. The resonator is excited with point source with a pulse of spectrum and FD-postprocessing, producing eigenfrequencies of the structure is calculated.

Geometry

The cavity dimensions are 60 mm, 60 mm, and 50 mm in X, Y, and Z direction, respectively. The resonator’s diameter is 20 mm and its height is 15 mm. The resonator is made of a dielectric material with parameters given as follows: ε_r= 30, σ= 0.00007 S/m.

Post Processing

Fourier transform of current flowing between the point source and the resonator, with minima indicating resonant frequencies.
