Some interesting Places in Warsaw
Wilanów
The history of the Palace began in 1677, when a village became the property of King John Sobieski III. Initially it supposed to be a small residence designed by Augustyn Locci, the king’s court architect, however due to increase of the importance of royalty. In the coming years the initial project was expanded. Its model was an Italian village and its original Italian name is ’Villa Nuova’ hence the Polish name of Wilanów. Huge construction works took place in the years 1677-1696. After the death of the King, the Palace became the property of his sons and later it belong to aristocratic Polish familes. One of the first museums in Poland was opened in the Wilanów Palace, in 1805. Palace is surrounded by splendid gardens which have been restyled over several centuries.
The Baroque garden in the French - Italian style is situated centrally. The English - Chinese Romantic garden covers the area to the south of the Palace and the English park is in the north.

Warsaw’s Old Town
Warsaw's Old Town [Stare Miasto] - the oldest historic district of the city situated along the bank of the Vistula was build in 13th century. The heart of the area is the Old Town Market Place [Rynek Starego Miasta], with its restaurants, cafés and shops. Surrounding streets feature medieval architecture such as the city walls, barbican and St. John's Cathedral. Warsaw’s Old Town was mostly destroyed during World War II, but after 1945 it was rebuild reusing as many of the original bricks as possible. The rubble was sifted for reusable decorative elements, which were reinserted into their original places. Warsaw's Old Town has been placed on the UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites.
The town originally grew up around the castle of the Dukes of Mazovia that later became the Royal Castle. Now there is a Museum in Royal Castle, it is also possible to take a walk around splendid castle interiors
