5.1     Manual Drawing

Drawing using UDO scripts is the best way to introduce complicated geometries.

Simple elements can be drawn manually (in XY plane only) using mouse or by entering the coordinates from the Keyboard Entry dialogue. The element is being introduced on the current level, with the current height and with current medium. To change current height, level and medium settings please use Define Level dialogue.

More or less complicated 3D shapes have been created using the library UDOs or their combinations. However, all the commands of the UDO language have their equivalents available through QW-Editor menus and/or shortcut buttons. Therefore it is formally possible to use QW-Editor in a manual way (manual drawing is available in 2D Window and in XY plane only). Such an approach may be an interesting alternative, especially for drawing simpler structures. Moreover, some practice with manual software operation can be helpful in both preparation of new UDOs and verification of their correctness.
