4.8     Envelope

2D/3D Fields Distribution window enables a set of plane and volume envelope calculations. The display switches from the default instantaneous field display to one of the field envelope types.

To change from one type of the envelope to another, the current envelope type must be disabled, and then the new type may be selected. Envelope calculations, except for Avr S, are not available for 3D Vector display.

The following types of envelopes can be calculated:

• plane envelope - the envelope calculations are performed in each cell of the currently displayed layer

• volume envelope - the envelope calculations are performed in each cell of the whole computational domain

The following plane envelope types are available:

• Env Max - envelope maximum

• Env Avr - envelope average

• Env DC - envelope DC

• Env Heat - envelope heat

The following volume envelope types are available:

• Vol Max - volume envelope maximum

• Vol Avr - volume envelope average

• Vol Max EH Comp- volume envelope maximum EH components

• Vol Aver EH Comp- volume envelope average EH components

• Avr S - volume envelope average of Poynting vector (available only in 3D Vector display)
