4.5 Thin Layer
QuickWave allows for analysing infinitely thin metal layers (metal layers of zero thickness). This allows avoiding small cells, and thus prolonging the simulation time, resulting from very small thickness of metal conductors in planar structures. The thin metal layers are enabled in XY plane.
Thin Layer can be created from the following base geometrical objects:
sketch in XY plane (see 2D Geometries chapter for more information)
face in XY plane
cross-section in XY plane (see Cross-Sections chapter for more information)
After selecting geometrical object and pressing button from Geometry or Sketcher tab, or Geometry->Thin Layer command from main menu, the Thin Layer will be created.
Thin Layer created from Sketch.
Thin Layer created from the top face (Face2) of the Cylinder.
Thin Layer created from the cross-section.
The thin metal layers are enabled only in XY plane. If created otherwise the following message will appear:
