8.10 Processing/Postprocessing

The  button in Simulation tab and Parameters->Postprocessings... or Postprocessings->Postprocessings... commands from main menu invoke Processing/Postprocessing dialogue that allows set all post-processings parameters.

All post-processings parameters are described in the dialogues dedicated for each postprocessing:

·       FD-Probing – at all Point Sources and Probe Ports which have been marked as taking part in FD-Probing, the software will calculate Fourier transforms of terminal voltage and current, and therefore extract embedding impedance and admittance. If Contours are defined in the project, field integrals along these contours will also be Fourier-transformed. For detailed discussion regarding this post-processing refer to FD-Probing.

·       Power Available – it invokes calculations of the Fourier transform of Excitation Waveform at all sources. For detailed discussion regarding this post-processing refer to Power Available from the source and Energy Available from the source.

·       S-Parameters – it calculates the S-matrix of an N-port circuit, where N is the number of virtual ports defined in the structure. For detailed discussion regarding this post-processing refer to S-Parameters.

·       Near To Far – near field to far field transformation in the frequency domain delivers the radiation patterns of a radiating structure, or scattering patterns of a scattering structure irradiated by a a free space incident wave, at specified NTF frequencies or in NTF Frequency band. For detailed discussion regarding this post-processing refer to Radiation and Scattering.

·       NTF Fixed Angle – near field to far field transformation in the time domain, for a set of fixed directions. For detailed discussion regarding this post-processing refer to Radiation at Fixed Angle versus frequency and Impulse response in the far-field.

·       FD-Monitors – performs Fourier-transformation of the chosen field components, at specified frequencies specified, in selected sections of the circuit called Fields Monitor. For detailed discussion regarding this post-processing refer to Fields’ Monitoring.

·       ExH Time Integral – monitor the time domain integral of the Poynting vector which has the meaning of a power flux and is expressed in [J/m2]. For detailed discussion regarding this post-processing refer to Time integration of the Poynting vector.

·       Apply Prony method – the optional QProny module will be used for S-Parameters post-processing of high-Q structures.

·       NTF/Plane Wave background – contains settings of the surrounding medium parameters (permittivity, permeability, conductivity and magnetic loss), which will be taken into account in the Near To Far post-processing and plane wave box excitation.
