3.1.3   Objectives

Optimisation Objectives can be configured in the Objectives tab of Configure Optimiser dialogue and are displayed in the Objectives list.

The Objectives list contains all objective defined or loaded from the UDO script and its optimisation settings.

Only enabled (checked) objectives will be used in the optimisation or parameters sweep.

If post-processing in QW-Editor has been set by a UDO command from a UDO file, then the same information from the same UDO file can be loaded as objectives from a different UDO file using Load UDO… button. It opens a browser for locating a proper UDO file. Note that a file of any name (but with *.udo extension), from any directory may be selected. After choosing *.udo file, the UDO Objectives dialogue will appear.

Pressing the Add… button invokes Add Objective dialogue for adding new objective.

Pressing the Edit… button invokes Edit Objective dialogue for changing the parameters of the selected objective.

Pressing the Remove button removes the selected objective.

Pressing the Enable button re-activates a selected objective for optimisation.

Pressing the Disable button maintains a selected objective on the list but ignores it in the optimisation.

After each simulation, QW-OptimiserPlus will automatically show the current goal function value in Optimiser Info tab of Simulator Log window. Show in Log options allow instructing QW-OptimiserPlus to either Show or Hide the current value of a particular objective next to the goal function value. The choice is indicated in the Show column.

View Results options allow instructing QW-OptimiserPlus whether a Results window for a particular objective is to be displayed automatically after the first simulation. The initial choice is indicated in the View column. At any time during the optimisation process, those windows may be manually closed or opened with an appropriate buttons from View section in the Optimiser tab of QW-Simulator Ribbon or from Optimiser menu of QW-Simulator main menu.
