Dr. Marzena Olszewska-Placha
Dr. Marzena Olszewska-Placha is QWED Research Engineer since 2010. She graduated from Warsaw Univesrity of Technology and her B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. (2014) were in the fields of waveguide filters, double reflector antennas, and graphene-based composite absorbing panels. She is the leader of R&D team at QWED company applying its proprietary software for electromagnetic simulation and design, QuickWave, to research and commercial design services concerned with microwave technology, microwave power applications (e.g. industrial heating systems), antennas, and material measurement test-fixtures. She is involved in developing new devices, being commercial products of QWED, for precise material characterisation in terms of electromagnetic parameters. She is actively involved in material science activities concerned with electromagnetic characterisation of materials, including dielectric substrates, semiconductors and conducting materials.
In the frame of collaboration between QWED and Warsaw University of Technology, she participated in 2 research projects concerned with modelling, measurements, and applications of graphene composites and metamaterials at GHz and THz frequencies. At QWED, she participated ERA-NET MNT NACOPAN, NGAM, H2020 MMAMA, H2020 NanoBat and was leadinng HPM-SYM and M.ERA-NET2 ULTCC6G_Epac projects. She is author of 11 journal articles and 43 conference presentations with 310 citations, 3 book chapters, and one patent (on electromagnetic absorbing panel based on graphene-based composites).
