The Institute of Information and Communication Technologies (ITACA) of the Universitat Politčcnica de Valčncia (UPV) was founded in 1999 by the Governing Board of the UPV. In 2005, ITACA was recognised by the Valencian Government as a University Research Institute, the highest research grade for research structures of Spanish Universities. With a global vision, ITACA conducts cutting-edge translational research using an approach based on responding to the challenges that our society is facing, creating scientific advances that can be directly implemented by public and private entities. Fueling scientific breakthroughs and technological advances with an interdisciplinary approach, ITACA conducts research over a broad spectrum of disciplines related to ICT, including digital electronic systems, industrial electronics, telecommunication systems, telematics, ICT systems in healthcare, sensor integration, electronic compatibility, electromagnetism and microwave research.
Worcester Polytechnic Institute was founded in 1865 to create and convey the latest science and engineering knowledge in ways that are most beneficial to society. Today, WPI holds firm to its founding mission to provide an education that balances theory with practice. WPI faculty members work with students on interdisciplinary research seeking solutions to important and socially relevant problems, both on campus and at more than 50 project centers throughout the Americas, Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Europe.
Center for Industrial Mathematics and Statistics aims to build partnerships between WPI, industry, and the general mathematical community that benefit students, faculty, and their sponsors.
As a division of CIMS, the Industrial Microwave Modeling Group (IMMG) is active. In its works, the Group relies on state-of-the-art mathematical modeling, scientific computations, and optimization in such applications as Multiphysics processes and complex systems of microwave power engineering, broadband/multiband antennas and radiating systems, and nondestructive evaluation and testing of materials.
