Vienna, Austria (Virtual)
March 2-4, 2021

Materials and our ability to understand and utilise their behaviour play a central role in supporting industrial transformation and delivering against the European objectives, such as the Green Deal.

In this area, The European Materials Modelling Council plays a special role. The EMMC International Workshop is a biannual cross-cutting event, where stakeholders from different materials modelling-related fields in industry and academia get together.
QWED was happy to significantly contribute to the 3rd EMMC International Workshop on 2-4 March 2021. The event was virtual, so instead of a social gathering and taking a photo, we could only enjoy a virtual cake (above) baked by Dr.Kersti Hermansson (Chair of EMMC Focus Area 1). We hope that the next 2023 event will be in person, like the previous the 2nd EMMC International Workshop in Vienna, February 2021, to which we also participated (see Malgorzata Celuch and Marzena Olszewska-Placha in the photo below).
At the EMMC-2021, Wednesday afternoon Session "From Modelling to Experimental Characterisation for Energy Materials" was organised and chaired by Malgorzata Celuch. The session featured contributions from the recently finished H2020 MMAMA and the ongoing NanoBat projects. Open Modelling Platform initiated by QWED in the projects was presented in the talk by Marzena Olszewska-Placha, gaining new collaborations for the proposed Task Group on "Linking and Coupling Computational Chemistry to Electromagnetics". QWED company and our projects were further presented in the Virtual Exhibition.

Session summaries and conclusions will soon be available at the EMMC website!
