Silicomb structure
The present example considers a silicomb structure. The silicomb structure is an example of popular honeycomb structures.
The considered silicomb structure was originally analysed by C. Lira, F. Scarpa, M. Olszewska, and M. Celuch in "The SILICOMB cellular structure: mechanical and dielectric properties", Phys. Status Solidi B, vol. 246, No. 9,  pp. 2055-2062, August 2009.

The aim of the analysis is to retrieve effective permittivity of a honeycomb material. For that purpose, we assume that TEM or quasi-TEM wave is propagating through the silicomb structure. To achieve that, simulation model enforces PMC boundary conditions along Y direction resulting in X-dir polarised TEM wave.
Effective permittivity is retrieved from a complex propagation constant using the relation:
The complex propagation constant can be calculated with S-Parameters postprocessing. The S-Parameters posprocessing is activated in a frequency range from 1 GHz to 15 GHz, with a frequency step of 0.01 GHz.
